Cats & Books

Have you noticed that many great books have had cats in them? There’s Dr Susses The Cat in the Hat, T.S. Elliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats (the inspiration for the musical Cats), even our favorite Harry Potter heroine Hermione had a best feline friend.

Perhaps its because cats are such unique, lovable, creatures with minds of their own? Perhaps its just because they make great characters.

Any cat owner will know that they really do have a way of incorporating themselves into your lives, and I’m not just talking about in fiction. Besides, cat’s really do have a thing for books too. Whether they’re climbing your book shelves, or falling asleep on your page as your trying to read, (or worse, chewing on the pages!), or even hanging out a bookstores, where there’s a book to be found, you’re likely to also stumble upon a furry friend.

So for your enjoyment, here’s so pictures of cats with books. After all, if you have a cat, a book, and a hot drink, what more could you want?
