Top 5 Literary Boyfrields

When it comes to books, there are so many characters we fall in love with. This usually leads to days and days of avoiding the real world, stressing and fantasising over them.

1. Chaol Westfall (Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas)

Because lets be honest, who doesn’t like a man in uniform? But apart from being a complete cutie, he’s a nice, noble guy who really does mean well. And I think that’s made more impressive by that fact that he’s just a human, and he’s willing to fight for what’s right and even stand up to those who’s abilities are far beyond his own. That takes a lot of courage. I’m really glad he’s going to get his own story! (Sorry Rowan fans, but I’m #TeamChaol all the way!)

2. Mr Darcey (Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen)

Ahhh Mr Darcy… My first literary crush. When it comes to Mr Darcy what can I say of my love for him except that, I was in the middle before I knew it had begun…

3. Captain Wentworth (Persuasion by Jane Austen)

Another man in uniform! Again he’s noble, good hearted and his love for Anne never falters. Don’t we all want someone to love us like that?

4. Ron Weasley (Harry Potter series by JK Rowling)

I often feel that poor Ronald is undervalued as a character. He may not be the chosen one, or the smartest one, or the most powerful, or even the quirky odd one, but that doesn’t mean he is worth any less than those characters. Remember back to the Philosopher’s Stone when he sacrificed himself during the chess game? Because of Ron, Harry (and Hermione) basically has a second family and a happy environment to be in outside of school. Because of Ron, Harry has a family who has welcomed him with open arms, and taken care of him, all meanwhile disregarding their own safety.Β Although they did have some disagreements, Ron was a pretty good friend to Harry. Both loyal and brave Ron would fight for those he loved without question. I think that really says a lot about a character.

5. Harvard Hottie aka Ryan Hutchinson (The Nannie Diaries 1 & 2 by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus)

Only known as ‘Harvard Hottie’ in the first novel, (or Captain America in the marvel movies) Ryan is smart, caring and an all round top guy.

Who’s everyone else’s favourite book boys??
